My name is
TERRY HOOLEY, I am 45 years old and I live, and have my workshop,
in Winthorpe - two miles up the coast from Skegness".
"I have always been fascinated and received great pleasure from creating
things ever since I was a young boy. I am a self-taught artist
with a passion for material experimentation and interaction. I utilize
anything that is sensually stimulating, but predominately use wood because
of its flexibility and natural warmth".
"Inspiration can be anything from Architecture, film, Ancient Civilizations,
both factual and fictional, personal experiences, to the vast wealth of
natural sources; but usually from small acorns grow
as I derive great pleasure from developing and expanding upon a project
once the seed has formed".
"At the moment I am concentrating on the development of my Sculptural
clocks, combining form with function, which I have put under the broad
title of Concepts in Time".
"In the past I have received mainly private commissions, selling
my work in this country and as far a field as Egypt, Kenya, America and
Australia".
"I now want to create professionally, exhibiting alongside
other creative and passionate people like myself, in a quality environment,
like Forge Arts".
